Some facts you probably didn't know about 'Germs In My Running Shoes'

Hiya peeps.

Yeah yeah I know am very very consistent on blogging. And very fluent in sarcasm too ;)

So for today's post I decided to do a fun facts kinda thing. I have been planning to do this for quite a few if my books for a while now, its just um laziness and exams and mostly laziness =)

CONTAINS SPOILERS SO IF JAVENT READ 'GERMS IN MY RUNNING SHOES YET, GET IT NOW!

.1. 'Germs in my running shoes' was originally called 'Hopeless'

.2. I wrote the original manuscript within ten months and took a year to edit it to get it ready for publishing (≧∇≦)

.3. I finished the original manuscript on my 15th birthday.

.4. Coral was initially supposed to die but right around the time I sent it to publish I read 'The Fault in our Stars' by John Green and found it too cliche to kill them so I ended up putting her into coma instead.

.5. Coral was initially supposed to be his girl friend but since I really suck at writing romance I changed it to best friend.

.6. The title was also supposed to be 'Germs in my Nike shoes' but due to copyright purposes I had to change the title hence the double cross Nike symbol on the shoe on the cover.

.7. I also wanted to kill Chris and have Natasha (his younger sister) narrate the last chapter but again due to it being too cliche I ended up changing it.

.8. In Chapter Thirteen 'Detention with the Math Horror' it was actually the boys playing music, singing, dancing and making a huge racket during detention but in the published version it is something to do with snow spray and party poppers.

.9. I was inspired to write this story after seeing a 'Horlick' drink advertisement where there is a boy who is a runner training along side his mum/elder sister hence Mona's and Chris's relationship.

.10. The sickness that Coral and Chris get diagnosed with is obviously fake and all my imagination. Guess I got fed up of reading people with cancer. I wanted to read books with other sicknesses too.

.11. The Principal's name (Madam Micrlea) is actually an inspiration from my own principal. She loves to announce so I searched up the word 'microphone lover' in Irish i.e. micreafōn leannān hence Madam Micrlea.

.12. This book is also my first book that I have published.

.13. It is also self published book.

.14. I am also the one who designed the cover. I know it's not the best but hey am no graphic designer.

.15. I was also inspired to write the last chapter by Demi Lovato's song 'Nightingale' hence Coral's question to Chris. ;)

.16. Later when my friends asked me what it meant, I didnt tell them and asked them to figure it out themselves. They then asked my English teacher how is Nightingale you know portrayed in books and stuff. She said that it could mean 'Guide' because it makes a reference to 'Florence Nightingale'. Coincidence?

.17. Chris's mother is partly influenced from my very own dear mumsy daisy ^_^

.18. I've always wanted to have an elder brother hence why Natasha's and Chris's bond.

.19. The book consists of 20 chapters including the epilogue and comes up to around 17,000 words. Yeah I know quite small.

.20. References to wrestling were all asked from by one of friends who loves wrestling. I personally do not watch that. Ew. (My opinion)

.21. It is also the seventh novel I had finished writing around that time. (Now I am done with nine. Woohoo!)

.22. I initially planned a duology. The second book being named 'Heartbeat' but then decided to change this to a trilogy. More details coming soon. *nudge nudge wink wink*
