Muse of Nightmares

Muse of Nightmares (Strange the Dreamer, #2)Author: Laini Taylor

Duology: Strange the Dreamer - Book 2

Genre: Fantasy + Historical Fiction

Synopsis:

Sarai has lived and breathed nightmares since she was six years old.

She believed she knew every horror and was beyond surprise.

She was wrong.

In the wake of tragedy, neither Lazlo nor Sarai are who they were before. One a god, the other a ghost, they struggle to grasp the new boundaries of their selves as dark-minded Minya holds them hostage, intent on vengeance against Weep.

Lazlo faces an unthinkable choice—save the woman he loves, or everyone else?—while Sarai feels more helpless than ever. But is she? Sometimes, only the direst need can teach us our own depths, and Sarai, the Muse of Nightmares, has not yet discovered what she's capable of.

As humans and godspawn reel in the aftermath of the citadel's near fall, a new foe shatters their fragile hopes, and the mysteries of the Mesarthim are resurrected: Where did the gods come from, and why? What was done with thousands of children born in the citadel nursery? And most important of all, as forgotten doors are opened and new worlds revealed: Must heroes always slay monsters, or is it possible to save them instead?

Review:

This book was beautiful from start to finish. There is something about Laini Taylor's writing that makes everything so wonderful and tragic. The story starts with two new characters, Kora and Nova, and then entwines with the characters from 'Strange the Dreamer' in a very unexpected but thrilling manner. I never expected the story to develop in the way it did but oh my gosh, the first 100 pages were just so... emotionally draining, you could say.

The characters in this book were given good storylines including the villians. They all had these character arcs, like a redemption arc where theur past is so tragically sad that it just breaks your heart cause the amount of pain and rage and sadness that they have gone through is unbearable. MY HEART WAS HURTED !!! I was literally a shell of a human at the end of this book.

Also I cant remember much except for my emotions when I was reading the book cause it has been a good two months since I read this book 😅 but I know that I urge you guys to read the Strange the Dreamer duology!!
