Book Review : Mind Games // Teri Terry
Luna is a no-hoper with a secret: in a world of illusion, she can see what is real. But can she see the truth before it is too late?
Luna has always been able to exist in virtual and real worlds at the same time, a secret she is warned to keep. She hides her ability by being a Refuser: excluded by choice from the virtual spheres others inhabit. But when she is singled out for testing, she can’t hide any longer.
The safest thing to do would be to fail, to go back to a dead-end life, no future. But Luna is starting to hope for something better, and hope is a dangerous thing...

Review:
I didnt really expect much when I first started reading it. I found out it was a dystopian and so I expected the usual government controls all the people, people divided into groups according to some criteria, a group of rebels, etc etc.
But this book gave me a cool surprise. It wasnt really like that. It was more about how you actually imagine the future to be like with all the advancements in technology and all that. With people accessing virtual worlds and feeling all the action and drama without getting physically injured. Sounds pretty cool right. But of course our heroine has to be different. So she is one of the refusers. a person who refuses to get implants and plug in to the virtual world.
So a series of mishaps happen and our girl, Luna is pulled into a situation she doesnt want to be in. One thing I liked about this girl is she wasnt like the other heroes/heroines that I have read about. She didnt get the 'I want to save the world' vibe neither the 'The whole world depends on me' vibe too. She just didnt want to be a part of anything and wanted to protect her loved ones. She did what was needed to be done and her emotions/feelings were very human. She understood what was wrong and what was right and she fixed whatever she could without all that hero worshipping thing going on.
One thing I found negative in this book was that I could easily point out some facts. Like the betrayer and where the situations lead to. But there were a few plot twists towards the end of the novel that got me like 'WHAAATT??!!'. Yeah it was pretty cool and gruesome.
There was also very little romance involved which made me very happy since I am person who prefers very little romancey stuff. Although I think I found myself a new fictional bf aka gecko. You'll understand once you read the book.
All in all I really loved this and I heard that there was a novella to this called 'Dangerous Games' which I hope to find soon because the ending of 'Mind Games' is very intriguing.
Hopefully this review makes you check out the book and I will see you soon :)
