Annual Colombo Bookfair 2k17
the ticket! |
I finally went to the annual bookfair and I thought of writing a post about it because this was probably the most adventuristic fair I went on. Its not that adventuristic but yeah 😅
First off I went alone, alone as in it was me and my cousin, my dad dropped us off at bmich. It was exciting because it was the first time I went to the fair without like a parent so yeah =)
So I went to the big english bookstores like I usually do. At first I couldnt really find all the books I wanted. I had a rough list on my mind on what I wanted to buy but I couldnt find anything on that list. I found a lot of second or third books in series or trilogies that I wanted and I didnt buy them because I wasnt sure if I would enjoy the series/trilogies.
Then at Jeya book centre I found manga. That was a HUGE thing! I had to supress a squeal because I was in public. There was death note, tokyo ghoul, one piece, one punch and a few others. But a volume or two cost around Rs 2500 to Rs 3000 which I found a bit too expensive and also I couldnt find the first few volumes. Most of them contained the fourth volume onwards. But I did make a mental note to go visit Jeya next time just to see what other manga they might have in the future.
And finally when I went to Makeens during my first round I found the last two books in the Skulduggery Pleasant series. I have been dying to get these for the past two years now and I finally have them in my hands! However there was one irking factor and that was they had changed the covers!!! So now I have the last two books in a different cover!! This is an annoying thing especially for a book collector like me. But I still bought them because I was waiting for those two.
After that since I wasnt satisfied with just two books so I went on a second round to the same stores. This time I properly scanned the whole place. I found some good books and I am quite happy with the books I bought so overall it was a good and tiring day.
Cant wait for next year! And also for the upcoming Big Bad Wolf Book Sale in October!
check their website for more details HERE!
Stay tuned for my bookhaul at the end of the month to know what I bought at the fair!
