O/Ls : My Experience

Hello Readers.
Exams were over yesterday. I just am sooo relieved right now. I already started reading a book. 'Vanishing Acts' by Jodi Picoult. It is good so far(just finished it actually). I might do a review on it. Maybe.
This post is all about my experience at my O/L's. To be honest it was a jolly good ride if you put all the tension and nervousness aside.
On the first day of the exams May 5th I had English Language the writing paper. You know the directed writing and an essay. We all stayed in a queue and waited for the invigilator to examine us. The hall was brighter than usual and I had heard that it was going to be freezing inside. I am not a very good person during cold climates. So I was scared that I might get a cold and that I won't be able to concentrate on the paper.
So yeah an invigilator took my passport and my statement of entry and checked it. She looked at me and the photo in my passport to see of it is the actual me that is going to sit for the exam. It was a little freaky at that point. But then she gave them back to me and nodded to me and said good luck. I entered the hall and another invigilator helped me get to my assigned seat.
Each day we had seats assigned in different locations. Also it wasn't freezing cold like I expected it to be. Only on my last day of exam was it so freezing cold. So yeah the chief invigilator gave is her speech which I got fed up listening to after a couple of exams. She would start off with...
"Good Morning and warm welcome from British council and the Cambridge examination board. Please keep your ID and your statement of entry on your desk. You are now under exam conditions. You have to follow the rules on the details to candidate posters you see in the room. Candidates cannot communicate with, ask for help from or give help to any other candidates in this room. Invigilators are not allowed to answer anything on the content of the question paper. If you have anything please raise your hand and an invigilator would come to you. You are not allowed to have any unauthorised things in the room of you do have any unauthorised things like mobile phones or any other electronic devices please hand them in now. You may use a calculator unless you are prohibited by the syllabus. Our invigilators will check a sample of calculators now. In a moment we will be giving you your question papers. Please fill in the details and read the instructions and get ready for the exam. Please use a blue or black inked ball point pen. You cannot use highlighters or any correcting fluid on your question papers. You are here to take the English language exams. Your start time is 9.30 and your finish time is 11.00 am. I will let you know when there is five minutes left before the end. When I instruct you to stop writing you are supposed to do so. If I find any one writing after I have instructed you to stop then I will report you to the examination board. In the unlikely event of a fire alarm please stay seated until instructions are given. Please know that disobeying the invigilators is considered as malpractice."
So the speech is something like that. I don't remember every word but yeah it is similar I guess. So yeah that was it. It was a bit of a ride but I am glad it's over. I know its not the end I mean I have my A/L's to do but for now it is 2 months of relaxation. I already finished reading a book and started on another one. He he. Also one more thing once we are done with the exams the chief invigilator would always say "thank you candidates" like seriously.
Also I have nicknamed a few of them.
One is called Sunsilk because of the way her hair moves you know like in a sunsilk advertisment.
One I nicknamed teddy bear because she looks like one and she is so sweet. Once because I putting my head down since I was fed up of listening to the speech she asked if I was feeling well? So sweet nah.
Another I call Mrs.GRU because she looks so like Mr.GRU from despicable me.
One looked like my nursery teacher and another looked so like my friend's mom. It was a bit weird but yeah I got through.
So that is my O/L experience I guess.
So yesterday I went to burgher king to celebrate the end of my exams and the beginning of two months of freedom. I have also planned a bookshopping with my friend and movie marathon with my cousins and also plan to have a couple of get togethers with friends. Hopefully they all workout Insha Allah.
Have a nice time watermelons.
Thank you for reading.
=)<3Sammy.
