To solve an impossible murder, you need an impossible hero…
Judith Potts is seventy-seven years old and blissfully happy. She lives on her own in a faded mansion just outside Marlow, there’s no man in her life to tell her what to do or how much whisky to drink, and to keep herself busy she sets crosswords for The Times newspaper.
One evening, while out swimming in the Thames, Judith witnesses a brutal murder. The local police don’t believe her story, so she decides to investigate for herself, and is soon joined in her quest by Suzie, a salt-of-the-earth dog-walker, and Becks, the prim and proper wife of the local Vicar.
Together, they are the Marlow Murder Club.
When another body turns up, they realise they have a real-life serial killer on their hands. And the puzzle they set out to solve has become a trap from which they might never escape…

Review:
An old woman (77 years old!) trying to solve a small town murder, sounds interesting enough. To be honest, it was the only reason I picked up this book. I was honestly imagining my grandma waddling around trying to solve a murder while reading this book. It was quite a funny picture 😆
The story starts when Judith's neighbour is shot dead and she gets to digging around because the police aren't immediately doing something about it. She makes friends (or something along those lines) while investigating the death of her neighbour, who also reluctantly help her out.
It's an enjoyable read, one you can finish quite fast. It doesn't really keep one on the edge hence why I think it falls in the cozy mystery category but the charm from the story really comes from the the three woman who try their best to solve the murders.
Apparently it is a series and I don't know if I am interested enough to read them all but maybe when I am in the mood for something relaxed and intriguing, I will give it a go.
